The rooms are freestanding but connected by 10-foot long steel square tubes. Each room has a 14-inch wind turbine on its roof. As wind blows, the turbine blades spin and rub against a metal and rubber armature to produce a rhythmic sound. The turbines have been modified by the removal of specific blades, creating a different interval for each room. The number of blades per turbine is 21, 20, 18 and 16. From inside each room, a person can listen to the sound emitted from the turbine above, as well as hear sound from the connected rooms in an overlapping sequence. The following recordings were made in Joshua Tree on October 16, 2011 at High Desert Test Sites.
